Common Assumptions

Automatic transport of an individual
DO NOT MOVE THEM UNTIL CONVULSIONS STOP
As the safety of the individual is the most important thing when someone is experiencing, it is important to simply allow the person to get through it prior to transferring them to a bed or stretcher. Any transport can often times lead to a more stressful time, making it even worse than necessary.

All seizures are the same
NOT ALL SEIZURES ARE THE SAME
In fact most individuals that are diagnosed with seizures can have several types of seizures. These include ones with convulsions, ones with brain activity, ones due to psychological reasoning, ones with a blank stare, or ones with no body movements

Restricting Movements
LET THEM GO THROUGH THE SEIZURE
Never attempt to control someone having a seizure by restricting their movements, though you are attempting to keep them from hurting themselves. Restricting their uncontrollable injuries can lead to all individuals getting hurt. Instead place soft items around them, to block them from hitting walls or hitting their head.
